Kinda messed up for White Catholic liberals, though I don't think the Catholic angle has any meaning at all. But, ya never know, the next people those pesky liberals will be coming after are White Jewish boys. Then it'll be the White women and the White gays. No one will be safe.

As a lifelong Catholic it's funny seeing how "we" are now being embraced by the Christian Right and GOP, along with the Mormons when in actuality many protestants don't agree with the Catholic or Mormon interpretation of the bible or theology and some even believe we are all going to hell.

Like the whole "thank you for your service" I see right through it. There's no respect or special status for Catholics or vets on the right it's just lip service. On top of that I don't think the kid was criticized because he believes Transubstantiation. So this whole Catholic kid thing reminds me of someone yelling Ukrainian nazis as if that bumper sticker alone would win an argument.

Steve and Greg, I appreciate your comments, but the Covington Kids, their religious school and their church were all specifically criticized for being Catholic while the liberals had their totally contrived and malicious feeding frenzy.

Sorry Mike, that's just in your world. Many many "liberals" are Catholic. I'm actually friends with a prominent Jesuit, and the biggest critics of the boy were Catholics who felt that he was not representative of Catholics or Catholicism. And, the "liberal" commentators on his page, like me, all said that there was nothing either Catholic or Christian about the boy's actions.

Liberals do not attack Catholic, Jewish, or African American churches. Neither do socialists or leftists. The reason I responded to your post is because of your attempt to connect anti-Catholicism to liberals. That's bs. I really don't know where you get your information, but I never heard anyone threaten the youths because they were Catholic or threaten Catholics in general. In fact, the only reason that the alt-right and its media are harping on cap boy is because 1) he is White and 2) he represents Trumpist intolerance --right or wrong.

We know that it's bs because no one would be able to tell the boy was "Catholic" from the video. They had to be told. Otoh, the boy's political affiliation and his "race" were obvious. Now, if it were a Black teen facing off an elderly White man, I don't think it'd be reflective of any religion, and I don't think there'd be much sympathy for him on FOX.

Anyway, it's about him being a White Trump supporter and has nothing to do with Catholics.

Edit: the sad thing is that when it's presented as a joke when there's nothing to smile about. The only way to address it is to be serious. If the idea is to address and prevent anti-Catholicism in the US, then it's easy to look up who does and has done it and why. Blame them. There's a whole wiki entry on it with citations. But, as far as political influences.
