I know we've been dissing him for years, and we must, and shall, continue to do so, but this video at least shows me that he is really trying his best to learn and practice Chinese gongfu (forms, at least):

Go Jake!

I think Jake is probably one of those who tends to have natural athletic ability and seems naturally flexible. So he can usually pass up one of the 100's of styles he knows as being orthodox when it really is not.
He must have something as he as amassed quite a large fan base and teaches via online -shrug-

Jeez, I wish I was that young and fit again. :(

But, he's still stiffer than Bejezus and there's no subtle coordination of the various parts of his body for the length of time that he has been teaching.

On the other hand, to be fair, his bagua in this video does seem like an improvement over his older clips and the demo "at speed" at the end of the clip is no worse than I have seen offered as expertise on many a Chinese clip.

I always imagine him on his computer drsperately creating youtube accounts and making playlists of his own stuff so it is always appearing when you type in a tai chi search. As good as taoist tai chi.org imho.

He's a good looking, clean cut guy that presents reasonably well and is fit, so he's got a decent customer base.

But one of the first things I found when I started looking for Taijiquan clips online again was one of his application videos. I'm lamenting the missed opportunity he has to spread some real IMA. He's just pushing such blatant misinformation. I'm glad to see the group's of the same mind regarding this travesty.

people have said very positive things in the past about fake mace re his attitude and dedication to what he pursues which is all well and good, people can benefit from this which is a good thing, he's a humanitarian. Just he doesn't seem to show movement of someone who has studied internal arts to any depth so trying to pass himself off as someone who has is a little confusing. He has never posted here, its always been others having a laugh at his expense which is unfortunate. He seems to have good intentions. Other than that we can only wish him well.

Maybe for economics? For creating new expressions of marketing in the martial arts? :P

I vote for Open Heart Surgery. I'm sure he'll put a lot of positive energy into it.
