Physical conditioning for IMA?

Hi,

I'm going to ask about this far and wide, because I really need good answers . . .

I'm about to begin training martial arts full time (6 hours a day, maybe).

The reason is because I've let my health degenerate so badly that I have to make a drastic change. Let's just say I'm less than adonyssian at this point.

So I want to get as much information as possible. If you were going to go into training a traditional martial art, more or less blind, and you were

-fat
-oldish
-had low physical endurance
-were basically inflexible

What would you do to remedy the problems as quickly as possible?

Can anyone suggest a basic training routine, without knowing to many details?

Thanks

Damn, BHassler made a very helpful post in another of this guy's troll threads. FYI, you're basically being his copy editor for free with any answers, but if it helps people, then that's good! :)

he's asking this everywhere.

hopefully he'll get a decent article out of everyones answers and help himself lose some weight and maybe others will start trying to get healthy and shed that extra badness that their body doesn't want or need.

It's very easy to be out of shape if you don't have any "short term goal". If you have a tournament to fight, work shop to teach, someone to kill, ... in 6 months then it will be much easier to give you motivation to train hard and keep in shape. I have always believed that there should be a statement on the marriage lience such as, "It any party's weight increased more than 10 lbs then divioce will be filed and the marriage will be void".

so, it's safe to say you don't dig fat chicks.

lol

I think people can be inspired and motivated by all sorts of means.

Unfortunately, their own health is often the least of their concerns.

I think if people realized that if not for them as an individual who exists as a sentient being, then none of this around them would exist.
If people knew the real odds of even coming into a state of actually being alive, they would appreciate themselves and value themselves even more.

We are each and everyone of us special, unique and irreplaceable. Keep that in mind as you move through space and time.
Make it your mantra.
Your life will improve.
