the R34L Shaolin....

The following typical threads that plague martial arts sites will get moved here if not just deleted: 1 - My style is better than Your style" - 2 - "Internal & External" - 3 - Personal attacks - 4 - Threads that start well, but degenerate into a spiral of nonsense.

the REAL Shaolin......

can't help but subject myself to this shit every now and then, now I need to share with you. I love the plastic trident and the walking stick form is priceless!

A little less posing and it wouldn't be too bad.

they're hittin each other with sticks, I like that.

But the pointless posing and wu shu flourishes are just a waste.

ummm.... they are most definantly not hitting each other with sticks.... at best they are touching each other with PVC. The flourishes are the best thing about these guys.... aside from the uniforms of course. If you thought that was not bad try this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtITrTApdls

Hey man, check your reading comprehension. I said " a little less posing and it wouldn't be "TOO" bad".

It's bad, but they're exploring weaponry and having fun, so, you know, who cares. I honestly think that the more you get into that vid, the worse it gets, they should have just stuck with the light attacking in the first minute or so.

Gimme a week of lessons with anybody in that kwoon and I could have them on top of the food chain with ease.

Looks like they're rehearsing some presentations for competition.

"Modern wushu" has been around long enough by now, a lot of schools do that sort of thing. In that light, I don't see anything particularly "wrong" with what they're doing here at all. :-/

They do look like special abilities extras from the original Star Trek set.
