Who is the best non-living Internally External Master ??

The following typical threads that plague martial arts sites will get moved here if not just deleted: 1 - My style is better than Your style" - 2 - "Internal & External" - 3 - Personal attacks - 4 - Threads that start well, but degenerate into a spiral of nonsense.

Who is the best non-living Internally External Master ??

Postby alexsuffolk on Tue Sep 01, 2009 6:39 am

Ok ...so who WAS the greatest ever , of all time...ever? and why?

One vote requested per expert. (must be non-living to qualify)

Mine is

Yueh Fei - even if he didnt create two (yes two !!!!) of the coolest martial arts ever, his deeds and legends have lasted far longer than yer average cage fight......and his tomb still exists so thats proof that his Qi was strong also.

And!!! He died by the hand of the forces of darkness - like Cheng Ting Hua (who should get an honourable mention here for that final courageous act...)

Lu Bu, because he skewered anyone and everyone and was so feared no one would screw with him in outright battle, because he would cut them to ribbons!

Sun Wu Kong
Let's see, a combo monkey-man who was born of a "stone egg" and can travel back and forth to "heaven" with a pig-man friend. Sounds like an allegory for higher dimensional beings doing some genetic experiments on humans. Internal (earth) and external (heaven). So there's my vote. Most of my female students think Sandy would make a better husband. God, I hate Internet poles. But weisek is okay, LOL.

Good one. But Kwan Kung created the Kwan Dao and was elevated to the status of "God of War" amongst his other legendary bad-assedness.

Is there anything particular about his tomb?

Since the thread title doesn't actually say "Who is the best non-living Chinese..." I nominate the Roman Republican hero Horatius Cocles who held a bridge almost single-handed against a swarm of enemies attacking the city around c.500BC while his comrades cut the bridge to pieces at the other end. When the bridge was down he threw himself into the water and swam back to his comrades on the other bank of the river.

The written accounts by later Roman historians say that he survived... despite having been speared in the buttock as he dove in. As if swimming in full armor on its own after a long fight doesn't give him the right to be a western long-dead internal/external master.
