Posted: Tue Jun 10, 2008 5:30 pmOkay, so I ran into this kid on another forum, and this just got my goat something fierce, I'll just let you all be the judge, and if it's best put into BTDT fare, so be it, but I'd really like the thoughts of the community on this little phenom. If anybody knows the Sifu in question, any info about him would also be appreciated.
I commented that he should probably look elsewhere for good Taiji, and got this answer back. (On Tuesday, June 10th, he started classes on Sunday, June 1st)

When I met the teacher I am about to start learning Taijiquan from, he asked me to put my 2 fists out in front of my chest. He placed his hands over mine and said "dont let me push your hands down, resist." So I did, he wasnt that much stronger than me physically. After about 5 seconds, he stopped and waived his hands around like someone practicing Taiji without a purpose. I felt the Qi flow quickly to my lower dantian, and out of my body towards him like steam from a boiling pot. He asked me to put my hands back out and try to push up again. This time it was a little harder to do. He stopped and waived his hands around again, and asked me to push against his hands a 3rd time. This time I could barely resist, and he stopped and acted like he was throwing a baseball under handed into my lower dantian and I felt Qi rush to all my extremities... This is when he let me know the experience was him stealing my Qi. He stated he had to give it back or my immune system would crash...
Apparently, Master Briseno runs Tien Shan Si (Sky-Mountain Temple):) My teacher’s name is Beto Briseno. He runs a Temple here in El Paso Texas, not a martial arts school. He teaches a lot of different martial arts, but I will only be learning Taijiquan from him. He is an ordaned Daoist, Buddhist, and Muslim, and has Masters from China that regularly come down and give free seminars for his students. I am actually starting classes with him on Sunday

Thank you sir. I actually did decide to go with my new teacher, and I have learned a LOT in the past week. I learned the traditional 24 movment form, the 37 Cheng Man Ching form, now Im learning the Chen style 38. He taught me the unbendable arm, how to properly sink with an oncoming force, and the secret techniques in the 2 Yang forms already. I am learning a lot and very happy with my decision.
