Please report any bugs you find here. Please be sure to include:
1) where you were in the forum (board index < etc)

interesting "bug"

when you link to a large image, it get's cropped. see here

Image

check against the link;

http://www.crossfit.com/mt-archive2/RowFixSC.jpg

i'll look and see if we can find a mod that resizes the images like RL does, which i always thought was a nice feature.

Re: Bug Reports

Postby Dmitri on Fri May 02, 2008 1:38 pm

Let me start by saying, EXCELLENT JOB, GUYS!!
Thank you so much for putting in the time and getting this going. 8)

Now to the business at hand...

Blue stuff on:
  • parts of 'new user registration' pages
  • parts of the "posting reply" page (posting.php?mode=reply) -- "POST A REPLY" text, Subject (when clicked/focused, text turns blue and blue border appears); "Topic review:" text below. Also blue frame around the main text box (the body), when the focus is on it.
  • frame around search box and search button at the top right (looks kind'a nice on gray, actually), and the highlighed "advanced search" text
  • underline and on-hover highlighting of embedded links
  • most of the search page (search.php)
  • subject line, when previewing a post is bold blue
  • on-hover row background highlight on the 'members' pages (memberlist.php)
  • some of the titles on the FAQ page (faq.php)
  • some of the titles at memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=55
  • page numbers on multiple-page posts, e.g. search.php?author_id=55&sr=posts
  • Control panel looks very sad :) -- ucp.php
  • on-hover Tabs colors on that page are too dramatically different (between white and almost-brown) Maybe change the inactive color to a lighter one, and a highlight color to something not THAT different...
  • title on all confirmation pages, e.g. ucp.php?mode=delete_cookies

OK I'm tired. Hope that was picky enought for ya. ;D
Will post more blue things when (if) I run into them...

Another small thingie is that the :X smiley shortcut should be ": - X", not ": X" (without spaces of course)
The rest of 'em look right (i.e. same as old) -- BTW, thank you for porting those! 8)
(I'll post separately in the 'suggestions' section re. smileys.)

Smileys

Postby Dmitri on Fri May 02, 2008 1:56 pm

(Oh what the hell, thought I'd post it here after all. It's closer to a "bug" than to "improvement request"... :))

Thanks again for the old smileys.

I would also suggest taking out the duplicate ones, i.e. those of the new ones that are duplicated by the old ones, namely :-D :-) ;-) :-( 8-) :-x :-P

Also, maybe it's just me, but the following seem completely useless and should probably also be removed: :!: :?:  :|
I mean, when would anyone use those? But, again, maybe it's just me... Just a suggestion.
All that extra stuff takes up valuable real estate...

Finally, in place of all those removed ones, here are some new suggestions, from my personal long-time collection (some of these I suggested to put on ef.net (which they did) and people seemed to have liked/used them):

Pink

Postby Dmitri on Fri May 02, 2008 2:00 pm

Can we please, please, please replace the pink highlights (on text and some borders, e.g. on buttons) with another color?
How about this one?

I mean, come on. PINK?! Image

Re: Bug Reports

As you all probably noticed, positions of the "inactive" and the "highlighted" (on-hover) images for the 'delete' button (for post deletion) are both off; one is a bit too high, the other a bit too low.

on-mouse-hover background highlighting

Postby Dmitri on Fri May 02, 2008 3:15 pm

It's not a bug, it's probably considered a feature, but the on-mouse-hover background highlighting on some of the pages (esp. the pale-yellow one on the main page) annoys the hell out of me. Yes, it may well be just me, but unless someone thinks it's a really neat visual/UI idea, it would be awesome if it disappeared... Less "UI noise" == more better.

'Flash' button

Postby Dmitri on Fri May 02, 2008 8:33 pm

Replying to a post or creating a new topic in OTT forum (e.g. posting.php?mode=post&f=7), I see a 'Flash' button.

It doesn't do anything (which is probably a good idea ;)), i.e. I didn't find a way to embed a flash reference, but the button probably shouldn't be showing up at all.

Note: It doesn't appear in any other forums; only in OTT.

Time stamp of last edit

Postby Dmitri on Fri May 02, 2008 8:42 pm

I could have sworn I saw the date/time stamp of last edit (and the total number of edits) of a post implemented, but I'm not seeing it anymore! :-/
(Maybe it was on fallingleaves.com, not sure...?)

We definitely need it though, one way or the other...

Stop kissing ass Dmitri ;D

But, yeah, it's a pretty darn good job... my god - they've added font size in about 5 seconds of me asking for it.... they must have ESP or something....

strange, I just edited dmitri's post, and time date stamp doesn't appear. however, in the admin control panel, the option is turned ON. weird.. I'll try editing my own post.

OK, this is definitely an issue Ashe. pretty high priority too. editing of posts doesn't show up, despite the setting being ON in the admin CP. did something you changed with buttons get rid of it somehow?

i don't think it's a standard feature of phpBB. steve cotter's board is also phpBB and i just now edited a post i made in march and as you can see... no time date stamp on the edit.
