if you delete a PM from your outbox before the recipient reads it the recipient gets a "this message was deleted by the sender" message.

not really a bug but something we might want to address.

i just found another bug with the PM's.

i sent a PM to dr. fish and he replied telling me it was balnk, even though it was in my sent box just the way i composed it. then when i tried to forward it back to him again, the system kept giving me a "no recipient defined" message even though i was selecting his name over and over and over...

we may have a corruption in the database somewhere.

PM's or the board in general? i do think the board loads a bit more slowly than the yabb but not enough to complain about (for me).

I only notice very occasional (rare) delays and most of the time everything's fine in that department.
Could be your "local" issues... (I.e. your ISP, your neighbors (if you're on cable), or one of the routing servers along the way...)

I only noticed it last night or early this morning with regard to the board and particularly the little boxes for unread posts or last post. It is all fine now.

Dmitri, I do use cable so that could have been the problem but other sites seemed to load as usual. Again, it's OK now.

(posting this in 'bugs' and not 'enhancements' because it is something that used to work fine on the old forum)

If there any way to control the "common words" list in the searches? Would love to be able to exclude user names (or at least some of the names) from it...

I used to search for my name (in cases when I didn't go online for a while) to see if anyone commented or asked me anything while I was away... Now I can't do that anymore, the search returns with:
The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: dmitri.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

Same result for "ashe" or "fong"...
It's not just user names though, because "nianfong" works fine.

If such "exclusion list" is not available or accessible, then maybe we could increase the "allowance", the limit that determines which words are "common" and which are not? (Although that latter work-around has a danger of pushing the DB access/load a little...)

Thanks.

Quite a few time, I got the following error when submitting a post:

"The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again."

All I had to do is submit it again, but it is strange.

Sometimes when I log in, I seem to get the "low-fi" version of the site...not sure why that is. Are y'all doing work on the forum at those times? Thanks.
