Awesome drum skills

I love drums :) This is brilliant - I got all emotional at the end at the level of skill and dedication on show.

Hey Ian - I am merely a fan ;) I play bongos when drunk... does that count?

I had the same reaction pretty much. That was completely amazing.

I'm assuming they're Swiss and I really didn't know they had that much rhythm. So much time, skill & dedication.

He's got a lot of skill, but it's not the sort of thing I'd want to listen to for more than a minute.
Now Joe Morello on the other hand..... check his solo out a couple of minutes into the song

Ha, I almost posted that one myself... ;)
It's excellent indeed.

Different beast thought... The kid is freakin' 7 years old man, think about it. My daughter is 8 so it's a handy point of reference...
Joe Morello is a very talented player, but the kid is nothing short of a drumming phenomenon, IMO.

Fair enough, though JM did solo with the Boston Symphony at 9 on violin before switching to drums ;)

How about this for a kid genius comparison then:

"(Buddy Rich) began playing drums in vaudeville when he was 18 months old, billed as "Traps the Drum Wonder". At the peak of Rich's childhood career, he was reportedly the second-highest paid child entertainer in the world (after Jackie Coogan). At 11 he was performing as a bandleader. He received no formal drum instruction, and went so far as to claim that instruction would only degrade his musical talent. He also never admitted to practicing, claiming to play the drums only during performances. :o

& p.s. the Bernard Purdie clip was great, as was the Swiss marching band thing!!

i fucking LOVE drums.
here's a good one from neal peart:

the bad: i live in a condo complex, so i think me having a full-on kit would piss off the neighbors.
the good: i'm enrolled in a 6 week tahitian drumming class for the summer. starts june 21. should be loads of fun!
