Kua Movement

The following typical threads that plague martial arts sites will get moved here if not just deleted: 1 - My style is better than Your style" - 2 - "Internal & External" - 3 - Personal attacks - 4 - Threads that start well, but degenerate into a spiral of nonsense.

Of course.
Anyone will tell you if it isn't on video, it isn't real.
HJB is on the video. Tell us what he's doing!
So is Chen Yu
And of course, you have unusual power too...riiight?
You have contributed nothing of value that I have ever read. Why is that!

Dan I know your a rough, tough, son of a bitch, with admirable skill's

I've always enjoyed your writing and thought very highly of you.
You were the only other Jiu Jitsu guy that I knew 14-15 years ago who actually took on "the heat"
for defending the truth of real taiji.
But You decided to go against Lu Ping teachings when you seen his video.
Not considering the linage and the real secret's he had in his possession.

Hi Willie
Its jujutsu. It means (soft) (art).
So you can imagine how passionate I am about defending the soft arts; Chinese, Japanese, or Indonesian. And put people down and out who say it doesn't work in a fight. Of course I would defend taiji! ;D
Your guy? I have no idea of who he is.
And teachings? I want to reserve my opinion on what I might have said and why. Are you sure of what I said? Many guys don't actually tell the truth about what they are doing. They say one thing; call it poor translation, hiding deeper secrets, or saying only what level they think the listener may be on or ready to hear, added to a student saying it and them not really getting it. But in any of those cases, you can't blame me if I watch someone do something and they SAY something different. Make sense?
We see it ALL THE TIME, but not everyone knows what they are seeing, hearing or reading.
And Willie, I am one huge fan of so many Internal arts, so You'd have to PM me what I said and when.
If I missed something or owed an apology, that's fine by me. No worries.

The opponent's legs are also the same ratio. You don't need 100% of your power going at his upper body. Xingyiquan likes to play that, Baguazhang doesn't, it's different.

I often quote HJB but I don't like to denote that because it doesn't seem proper. It's a 'face' issue.

Carry on though with your incomplete methods.
No skin off my hide.

Hold on now...
I've been nice.
I can defend and explain what I do, you can't or haven't explained what you do. As I've noted. So okay maybe you're frustrated okay..
But...
Have I mentioned YOUR "system? "
No.
Disparaged your teacher?
No. In fact I have complimented him here.
You choose to disparage mine?
Okay, then.
As far as incomplete?
From ground to standing
From classical jujutsu to modern combatives
From classical weapons to modern weapons
With some very heavy hitters supporting the work?
Ya... I'm good thanks.
I'm glad you're enjoying yours as well. I like what HJB does.
Peace
Dan

Whaaat? I don't even know who your teacher is!

Like I mentioned, I saw that video clip of you, and I know from watching it that you move well and have a lot of power.

All I'm pointing out is that with some tweaking around from Jinbao, that you could maybe be that much better.

I don't care about lineage or any of the drama that goes on. All I care about is that the skills he possess get passed down to any athletic fight-minded individual, properly. Not just in words. People who can do something and not just talk about it.

Jinbao is really interested in meeting people who can use cold weapons, and I think your skills with the sword would be right up his alley, and be your foot in the door to the higher level skills that start getting into the Shen stuff.

But don't take my word for it, I'm not by any means his voice.

And my hunch is no guarantee that he would want to teach you anything, but maybe he would teach you everything, you just never know.

You mean the most recent post?
I meant here, now. You were complaining that the thread went down hill, but you haven't written anything in detail or depth on the topic that I saw.

O.K. So I did put up a video on advanced whole body movement, not sure if you seen it or not. now is private.
If you want to get ton's and ton's of subscribers all you have to do is put up fake stuff that makes everyone happy. lol!
Anyways, this might be of interest to you.

The body and mind are one.
The better connection to whole body movement anyone achieves, the more connected the mind becomes.
As we learn to let go of the resistance that restricts that connection, the mind also learns how to let things go.
An example would be an insult and how it is taking.
so if you say to me, you have nothing of any value. I have a couple choices, one is resistance, one is non-resistance.
The one of none-resistance shows connection. the one that shows an argument is in conflict with whole body connection.
The mind itself breaks the chain.
So if you say, I have nothing, I say O.K. and my day goes on in peace.

Thanks

Interesting, I've crossed hands with three ICMA grand MASTERS, and a host of JMA Master level guys. So far, I'm pretty comfortable, but thanks.

手打三,脚打七
The hands hit 3 (30%), the legs hit 7 (70%).

Is a ratio of importance to whole-body tactics, and a ratio of power- hands (from below the waist upward) is 30% of the power, legs (everything below the waist). Now it's important to understand that the Waist is actually the Wai Dantian (exterior of the dantian).

This equation could be just one as well.
This is why it is so important to do all the lower end work and use it during push hands, grabbling and striking.
Using taiji to cultivate and then using a kick boxing lower end format is a fast road that definitely works, but in the long run it
will cheat the practitioner out of obtaining real taiji.
i'm not directing that toward you or anyone else just some thoughts.

It has nothing to do with kicking, it's stepping and kua usage.

It's not what I'm talking about.
I prefer mid to low stances which actually power the movements instead of mid to high.
I see many people standing almost straight up, Or have taking a MMA style kick boxing bottom half.
there is only limited lower body mechanics like that.

I think I would like to meet your teacher. Where does he teach?

oh, he's a floater, very difficult to learn a system like that.
I don't think I would be interested, almost all of my training is directly transferred.
I go right to my teachers house.
But you never know, maybe I'll go over there.
Thanks

You won't regret it plus you can ask him about Zhang Luping and probably get to hear some good stories and history.
