Could be a case of ancient Daoist master(entity) possessionSome traditions, mainly Taoist out of Maoshan and shamanism in many forms from what I've seen, even go a step further and provide certain gifted lay practitioners with specific training designed to permanently implant deceased lineage masters within the system into the practitioner. The practitioner is usually not informed about this happening. Sometimes this is referred to as "preparing the vessel" in older texts. Jerry Alan Johnson's lineage is one of these. There are others.
