Book on Mike Martello

Postby Iskendar on Tue Mar 13, 2012 2:37 pm

Apparently one of the late Mike Martello's students wrote a book based upon audio recordings Mike made, in which he described his vision on the martial arts.
The book is for sale here. Thought this might interest some people here...

From the summary:
"This book is a posthumous tribute to a great Chinese Martial Artist, Michael Martello. A few weeks before his sudden death , Michael gave a cd he had recorded to one of his students, Yves Verbeeck.
This CD is a tremendous source of information. Michael explains the essence of what martial arts can do for you. It is an inside look at who you are, a philosophy that changes your life so you can live your life a lot better. There is a deep understanding that a martial artist will surpass any athlete, not in terms of endurance or strength. He talks about an internal understanding of what and who you are. How to create and keep your foundation and make it stronger, how to think. What is common to the northern styles and what they can do for you?
Michael and Yves had plans to publish several books. When Michael died, Yves made him the promise to keep his name alive. Because he wanted to share the valuable insights of a very skilled martial artist, Yves began typing the recorded texts ..."

Yup, English paperback dead tree book. You can read the intro and TOC if you click "Lees een fragment" (read an excerpt).

I just got my copy in the mail today.
(one of the only drawbacks to living in paradise is mail - it is not the speediest - don't know why- its not like they send it by boat anymore)

it looks really good-
i flipped through it- and read the first parts

will post a review when i finish it
