Bullshit.

Example: I said that a Marine would be the kind of person that a gun proponent would want to be armed in one of these situations. You asked how I knew. I explained. You then changed the subject and said I didn't answer the question.

That is your typical strategy of bullshitting. As I said, we were talking about shootings and shooters. We were talking about blaming groups for the actions of individuals. Then, you wrote a post explaining why all Muslims believe in terrorism. Then, you wrote about immigrants committing murders. All of these just to deflect from discussing the group, ideology, or identity of the person who committed the crime in question.

It's totally understandable. It's also obvious.

But, I would also push back against tao's post stating that the problem is gun owners (Steve already pointed out the fallacy there). The recent figures on PTSD and drinking by our troops is really disturbing and I wish we would tackle these problems on multiple fronts: more reasonable and evenly enforced gun laws,
If immigration laws are not enforced by some cities / states/ why would one expect gun laws pursuant to the state to
be evenly enforced among the states ...How does that work ?

proper support and safety nets for our troops, health care (including mental health) for all citizens and residents, and a halting of all wars that are not absolutely necessary (that's pretty much all of them).

One could argue that all wars are unnecessary but are the end result when things break down.
The problem with "mental" health care is that often those that need it, do not feel they do nor agree to it.

PTSD is a problem, In my time joined in 74, many back from nam, still serving had it. We didn't call it that back then nor was it recognized as such
just knew that some guys were messed up..lots of drug use back in the day.. .

Had a co worker just out from the Marines who had it working as an "armed" courier for
a company I used to drive for "armed" transporting money from bank to back....nice guy at times but one could see
he was a ticking time bomb. He would go off rant and rave,,,took awhile to clam him down. ....lots of shit inside.

Another co worker in a tech company, Army guy,,,interesting american chinese, used to mention the "shit" he saw ect
started to reflect in his tats, which seemed to increase, and how he dressed, ect.

A problem for each, hope they are around other vets that take the time to listen
and help them find a way back...

So, you offer zero solutions or ideas and just repeat tired old rhetoric. Worse than worthless in this case. And why are you still bringing up immigrants? Axe to grind much? ::)

When Gabbi Guilford was shot there were people armed in the crowd and it didn't stop the shooting. Someone tackling the shooter as he tried to reload stopped the shooting.

Also dude used smoke grenades to add to the confusion as he shot his way in.

Yes, someone may have stopped him sooner but it's a fantasy to think that more guns will stop was is clearly an epidemic of mass shootings in our society.

If everyone in Vegas were armed it still would not have stopped Vegas the shooter. Interesting how that scenario never comes up in right wing talking points.

Speaking of Vegas...

Las Vegas shooter ranted about gun control and right-wing conspiracies weeks before the massacre

New documents obtained by the Associated Press offer a glimpse into the mind of gunman Stephen Paddock, 64.

The most interesting thing is that he gets a free pass. Could you imagine if he were an immigrant or a Muslim?

Vice was a little thin. This article goes into more detail.

Eyewitnesses say that at Manny’s Blue Room Bar in Robbins, Ill., security told a group of intoxicated men they had to leave. One of the men returned armed, at which point shots were exchanged between them and armed security guards.

One of the guards, Jemel Roberson, 26, managed to restrain one of the gunmen.

From WGN9:

“He had somebody on the ground with his knee in back with his gun in his back like, ‘don’t move,’” witness Adam Harris said.

Two police officers arrived, and upon seeing the scene, one of them immediately shot Roberson before taking the time to better assess the situation.

“Everybody was screaming out, ‘he was a security guard,’

A man (who has a gun permit) pulls out his gun when he finds in the middle of a shooting and gets shot and killed by an off duty police officer who claimed he got the shooter and the real shooter gets away.

So much for the if we just had more people with guns theory.

Turns out that the Sheriff shot in Sherman Oaks was shot a sixth time and killed by a shot from a CHP rifle. Yes, more guns solves everything...

This has been brought up for years. If everybody in a room pulls out a gun, no one will know who to shoot. If it's in a bar with some intoxicated people, the problem is just compounded. If there are more than one shooter, it's worse. Only surveillance camera footage may be able to sort our who shot whom first.

Anyway, it is only reasonable that more mistakes like this, and the security guard shooting, and the veteran who was shot, will happen. There was a guy last week who shot a home intruder, but was then shot by the police.

Explains why the left and right will never agree.

Why conservatives are so obsessed with guns.

Yesterday a school shooting in Brazil and now a terrorist attack from the far right in NZ. Looks like America style senseless killing is spreading world wide.
