Don't know about heng, but I definitely agree about beng. Will look for his swordplay, thanks for the recommendation.

Yeah, seems like a cool guy. Good that he let his students apply a bit of power against him. Good teacher.

older generation have good kungfu; the meaning is they have and use the gongli to "bully" you.
chinese say "eat" you.

i heard that how you "show" it is good xingyi?
one must be able to " 进步移人", meaning step in and move opponent
this criteria is very clear and simple; but doing it is not so simple.
it is not to say that the five element techniques are not important,
but first you must step in and move opponent

as below teacher say:
"my pi is come from my back, extend out to the arm, in front of me like 2 sabre"
"if you use only your hand to block, the opponent can feel and next attack will come,
if you use the whole body to go in, he cannot pull back his arm, cos he knows if he does that
my fist will come in"

"... like bullet, its a kind of penetrating force..."

It is his Jian shue that he is applying here with empty hand. The leverage though is not the same, if pi or beng has already dropped on you, it is bull force only to try to apply pao, the weight, no matter the footwork is too heavy to create any explosive force. One must remove the dominant weight to make room to explode through. The applicable technique would be zhuan or pi. By removing the arm on which his pi rests, you remove his support, will shake his core, placing the unaffected side on top of the fallen hand and landing zhuan or pi into his oncoming momentum. In Xing I The stepping is dictated by the nature of force encountered, this is part of the sensitivity of Xing I.

Agreed. Too many teachers are afraid to let their students demonstrate on them. IMO, having a good student show his skills is a complement to the teacher!
