Well as someone who has done that on concrete let me enlighten you. Some grazing And slight bruising the next day ... shock horror!!!

Sounds nasty. Presumably, the only reason you can still walk after such a terrible injury is because of the years of daily application of herbal remedies and long distance qi healing from mount wudang (at very competitive rates).
You may think I don't know what I am talking about but you don't know my background
I grew up with two cousins who became Australian wrestling champions
I also worked with a number of professional wrestlers
In the 70's the only long term martial artists were judo and jujitsu guys
Most had trouble walking
My first martial arts were judo and karate
I got my first judo instruction in 1959
All that aside a knowledge of body mechanics tells me if you land on both knees supporting someone's body on concrete it is not the best decision you can make

Sorry, but I am not impressed. Forget all that ... I wonder if you ever fell over and grazed both knees in the playground as a child.
No one is saying it is the "best idea you can make" ... I absolutely would not aim to do it as a tactic, but that has very little to do with fear of damaging my knees. I am simply saying that, if needed, it also isn't as bad as most people assume.
regardless I am finished with the discussion.
