Dang裆

Dang 裆 is the joint of the two legs of the trouser, and in English should be both the front rise and back rise of the trouser as show in the following link :

It is a mistake to translate Dang as crotch as in Wikipedia:

Most people from China knew about the traditional Kai Dang Ku 开裆裤 (open pants) for kids and the position of the Dang.

Is the admonition to "round the dang" a bad translation, incorrect practice, or ...?

I was taught that, effectively, the "dang" goes from the inside of one knee to the inside of the other knee and all that is in-between: in short, "the crotch". That, whatever one calls it, should be rounded. How is that relevant to what you are stating?
