test no topic

The following typical threads that plague martial arts sites will get moved here if not just deleted: 1 - My style is better than Your style" - 2 - "Internal & External" - 3 - Personal attacks - 4 - Threads that start well, but degenerate into a spiral of nonsense.

Toxic masculinity? There's a difference between masculinity and someone's approach to masculinity being toxic.

The men who argue that there's no such thing as toxic masculinity generally think feminism is toxic. :) That's how the name came into being.
Maybe the "Femme fatale" is a better illustration of toxic femininity, but what a way to go. Everybody gets to keep their illusions.

don't get me wrong, there is such a thing. But to complain that a guy who rescued people based on his training and broad stroke him as an example of "toxic masculinity" is bloody ridiculous.

Is that what's happening? Looks more like the YouTube commenters are defending their idea of masculinity by associating this positive action somehow with what others criticise as toxic.

I hadn't even watched the video, let alone read the comments :) I was really commenting on the preoccupation with labels.

I totally agree that calling a soldier's actions in combat "toxic masculinity" is ridiculous. But, for me, it's ridiculous because I'd bet that there are female soldiers who'd do the same thing. And, I'd bet there are plenty of men who wouldn't. Bravery isn't toxic. (Ok, it may be damaging to the enemy :)).
