Guns: I think everyone agrees that less violence is good. The main difference is the question of whether having more or less guns would result in less violence.
Instead of debating - it should perhaps be tested out in places that are willing to follow the chosen ideology.
For example:
Small City #1 becomes super-armed (everyone is armed and trained)
Small City #2 becomes unarmed (guns are given up for money)
Ideal for such a test would be cities that are very much followers of pro-gun or anti-gun.
More guns means more gun voilence. The idea that more guns means less crime is a myth.
