Looks like a great trip Andrzej! Maybe you could go into a bit more detail about what attracted you to Wu (Hao) style and M Zhai Weichuan in particular?

For many years I focused solely on Yiquan, to be able to observe the results of pure Yiquan training, not impacted by other kinds of training. But always planned to give at some point in the future some attention to those more traditional arts, like Xingyiquan, from which Yiquan developed, Baguazhang and Taijiquan. Taijiquan I actually did for some time, before completely switching to Yiquan. And some years ago I started doing basics of all of those arts, but then Wu 武 style attracted my attention to such extent, that presently I have no time for playing more than just Yiquan and Wu Taijiquan.

Actually I was thinking rather about Chen style originally, which I did in Beijing about 30 years ago. But then I met some Yiquan guys from Handan, who also learned Wu style since their childhood, so I tried a bit of it, and then it was just that I kind of liked Zhai's forms better then other', and now I feel quite happy learning his stuff :-)

BTW. Here is the wu bu ba fa form, which will be the main topic of our training in Guangfu next year:

Interesting! Do you feel there are any conflicts between Yiquan and Wu (Hao) taiji? If you don't mind me asking, what do you feel it adds for you (both martial side and/or yangsheng side)?

For a beginner there might be conflicts, I mean maybe a beginner would make faster progress focusing on one art, while learning two arts with quite differents approaches could be confusing. For me personally what is interesting at this stage is just studying, seeing different perspectives. Actually I don't think that doing Wu taiji adds much to martial ability or health aspect, if you practice yiquan already. So this is not the reason, why I learn it. It is more about being curious about different learning process.

It is possible that because of the present situation we will need to make this training trip a few months later than originally planned.

In the meantime another video with master Zhai Weichuan:

Zhai Weichuan is good. His class is totally worth taking. Get as much as you can before he is not teaching anymore.
