Finally Watched Joker

Damn good flick!

I don't usually watch super hero movies but after finding out it was the same director from Hangover I became intrigued. They didn't want to make just another super hero movie so instead they did a character study along the lines of Taxi Driver. Cool that they got Dinero in on the action.

Definitely a movie for our times.

The Joker is still on my list of movies to see, thanks for reminding me about it. Otherwise superhero movies have just become too much of so it’s not interesting anymore, perhaps I’m getting too old for them.
Spider-Man, X-men movies I liked. But the Batman flicks are best, maybe because Bruce Wayne is a “regular guy”(no superpowers)......Perhaps in future stories he will battle his villains with a super powerful designed bat virus.

It's fully outside, completely insulated from the rest of the DC universe.

Saw it in the theater on my last visit home.

Really good movie. Found my self thinking about it a lot for a fair bit of time afterwards.

Fascinating

This is a good thing. I want more films in this universe, with the universe's Batman, who will hopefully be a lot darker and less of a goodie 2 shoes.

It's been a while, but If I remember correctly Frank Miller's late 80's Dark Knight was a Batman without goofy super powers or an abundance of sci-fi plot devices. I felt Miller was emphasizing the personality of that version of Batman and it would fit perfectly with this realistic and non-super Joker.

If you like Bruce Wayne...

Let's just say you're going like it.

Makes we want to watch all the Batman movies now.

I will leave it at that.

Looking back it was like Clockwork Orange, One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and of course Taxi Driver rolled into one.

I also like how the man (won't name names) who wanted to run for mayor dressed just certain Pres...

In an interview the director said Obama years gave us Hangover and the Trump years gave us Joker.

Some year ago I watched the first two seasons of Gotham, though it was quite good, but couldn’t then find the other seasons on the Chinese tubes.

In that one Bruce Wayne is still a kid, and Gordon is a freshly baked detective trying to keep Gotham clean from crime. It’s dark but on a lighter side. Good actors, the Pinguin character is quite interesting in that one.

I have read Clockwork Orange but not that book.

How is it?

I wonder - will they just make new films for these same old comic book characters until the end of time?

I think so. If they make more like these I would watch them.

Glad to see they have turned a corner.
