In this very interesting examination of TCMA vs MMA, we have a Taiwanese self-proclaimed Tai Chi Master named Li Ming challenging MMA Mad Dog Panda Xu Xiaodong. And what's more: Yang Tai Chi Li Ming actually has footage of himself testing his Tai Chi (and Bagua too) against two different boxers in Taiwan. Let's bring in Rob and analyze how well this Tai Chi master does in the ring. Is there any efficacy in his boxing? Could he really take on Xu Xiaodong? Also, what do you think about Li's interesting approach to holding his hands in the ring.

Our self-proclaimed Taiwanese Tai Chi master Li Ming sparred Qi La La and kickboxing friends back in 2018. Yes, Li Ming has tested out his Tai Chi and Bagua in 2018 against our Wing Chun protegy Qi La La. So this was two years before he challenged MMA Mad Dog Xu Xiaodong. Let's see how Li Ming Tai Chi moves and whether he looks any different in 2018. Has he made any progress since? We all know how he did against two boxers in 2020. Could he really take on Xu Xiaodong?

When you got an environment where people constantly enforce what you believe to be true, worse, when your echo bubble gives you 'authority' and high status, it's hard not to get caught up in self delusion...
Coupled with a hidden inferiority complex and wanting to be special.

I can’t commenton his Taijiquan since I can’t see the vids, but the quote. Again where are the videos of Xu fighting first class boxers or even low class...or is it only Taiji”masters” that fight (low?) class boxers and Mr.Xu

I think Xu's whole point is, "I'm old and fat and not that good anymore and I can still kick the crap out of all of these fakes."

Xu is just trying to demonstrate that an MMA practitioner who is in no way great is still better than all of these so-called masters. And on that level he is very effective.
