I usually think about it more like sumo. It doesn't seem as "technical" as MA, but that would make sense because you need to create a little space to get by, not win a wrestling match. That last comparison seemed like a huge stretch.
the incidental hand fighting in soccer/association football is more interesting to me b/c you need to do it w/o getting called for a foul, you're trying to do something even more technical (if you're on the ball) while doing it, you need to be ready to take the fall (like exaggerating what your push hands partner did to you in a demo
) if it's to your advantage to possibly draw the foul in front of the ref. so all your "push hands" has to be really disguised.
