Should Biden win.

Wonder how much time he has before impeachment or the
25th amendment is used ?

Please clarify -

All I am saying is that I have seen these cultural attitudes persist for decades. There is slow change, and there is faster change, and cultural attitudes have their influences throughout. I do think that Trump capitalizes on these cultural attitudes, especially the attitudes about “political correctness”, and we are seeing the results of both sides swinging back and forth, one being more prominent until the other swings back –back and forth, back and forth – but change is typically rather slow unless something precipitates a more rapid change.

I have no idea where the pendulum is currently swinging to, whether strengthening Trump or swinging away from his cultural approach, but the amplitude does seem to be increasing over the years. One side is saying that if the other side wins then it will be the end of democracy, while the other side says that if their opponents win then it will bring socialism... I say nonsense to both! But the rhetoric and policy positions of both sides do indicate that the pendulum is swinging widely.

With "All in the Family" we could laugh at both sides, while still liking each person, but that does not seem as likely today - the pendulum seems to be swinging farther and farther.

WW - if elected Biden might be able to play it right while Kamala and AOC push him left and he might get a little sumting sumting in exchange. I am sure he can find some party favors in Hunter's room to make the 3some interesting.

I spoke too soon about the chads invalidating - it seems that sharpies are the new chad
in AZ Maricopa county.
and..........after Twitter saying they will only use acknowledged sources for election
reporting they allowed one of them to claim AZ for Biden. As we all know AZ has not been called.

not sure about the culture pendulum as it seems super close all around, not just EC, but popular vote.

demographically we know factually that things are getting more "grey" (age) and more "brown" (race) and some migration to S and SW (AZ seems flipped, TX and FL and NC and GA were/are close). maybe some of those things swing the pendulum one way and some the other.

Um, you have the meaning of that saying backward. I was pointing out that you were casting stones from a glasshouse. Nice try, though. In fact, you were not only casting stones from a glasshouse, you were aping Trump's despicable behavior by bizarrely suggesting that Biden was going to have a menage trois with two other politicians because they are women. I'm sure you are popular with the ladies.

I don't really feel the need to relitigate Biden and his accuser, except to say that I really believed it until all of her very bizarre behavior and lies came out. Biden is definitely creepy, although probably not a rapist. Can't say the same about Trump, but you guys never seem to mind that.

For the record, I am not and have never been even the slightest fan of Biden, and feel that he was probably the second weakest Dem candidate in the very large field. Running a prosecutor alongside him given the current racial injustice issues also seemed to me like a horrible move. But, it looks like it might just barely be enough. Frankly, I was expecting Trump to win. Too early to say yet, AFAIC.

There are just too many weird ideas coming from the Trumpers here. I'm also curious about Bruce's statement that Biden would be dead (or bow out?) before the innaguration. Is the idea that he is going to stroke out? He seems like he is off his meds from time to time, but so does Trump. Biden also looks to be in much better physcial shape, so I am honestly confused by the assertion. Either of them could die before the new year, but I would bet on either of them croaking.

Ian - yes got it LOL

As far as Biden stroking out - it is fact that he already has.
That's OK for a regular civilian but not acceptable for president.
I thought everyone that voted for him knew that already.
The 25th ammendment - everyone thinks that is another attack on Trump
by Pelosi but it is intended to be used on Biden.
Who doe Kamala intend to nominate? AOC? That would be a trip.

If Biden wins, do you believe he will be able to do much at all? Seems like he would have a tough time. ???

A lot depends on what happens in the house and senate.

Should he win, and the Dem's lose the house, expect Biden to be up for impeachment after the on going investigations
ends.

Should the Dem's retain the house, expect the same thing to happen although the reasoning for why would be different.

The Dem’s established a lot of precedents during this term
The use of impeachment as a political tool , one of them.

If the GOP regains the house, and grows a spine it becomes an option.
Use of the 25th amendment requires the consent of the Vice President. :P

Of course she wouldn’t allow it ;)
