I hear that. Not too many red hats around here in the South Side, either.

It has been disturbing to see that there have been clashes at so many other capitals from places I used to live. Salem and Sac, as well as other cities like LA, have had clashes where the police largely stood back and let things get out of control. I wouldn't have known had I not talked with family and friends and then looked at local news sites.

Also, there is a story that Trump apparently regrets his (luke warm) rebuke of the storming of the capitol and now again vows to fight on. Not good.

Yeah, that was to be expected --just not hoped for. He still hasn't come out specifically about the calls heard to "hang Mike Pence as a traitor." That's why the two haven't spoken.

There've already been more protests at state houses, none violent so far.

The days following 1-6 you would see large groups of Trump supporters with their flags and signs above a freeway overpass but the following week the group slowly disappeared.

It's great to have friends in high places who can pardon you for whatever you do. Anyway, it hasn't been a month since the insurrection? Just wait for the books, mini-series, documentaries, and movies coming along --for the rest of recorded US history-- just like 12/7 or 9/11. I wouldn't be surprised if it were designated a national day of remembrance, if not a holiday, even though it comes 2 weeks before a national holiday.

I've always wanted to know, if it's claimed that non-Trump supporters initiated the violence, why the law enforcement officers there assist in quelling the mob and arresting the "real" perpetrators, especially when they saw officers being attacked. Well, there have been several resignations and suicides.
