Can a brother get a translation?

Postby shawnsegler on Sat Jan 16, 2021 5:15 am

It's a lot to ask but if someone could translate the text they show from the beginning to like 5:05? I think it's just a couple of pages worth. Even the "gist" would be nice.

Thx in advance.

Cheers!

So far it seems like no one would do the task.

He speaks about the 12 different animals, the qualities and pointers to think about when you practice them. Dragon has coiling, long movements etc.

I don't have time to make a full translation, and although he speaks very clear Chinese and it's not very complicated, I don't think I am good enough as there are a several things I am not completely sure about how to make a fair translation on. however, I tried to make a search for the text and a translation, and although I found similar descriptions, they are not the same. It seems to be a document specific to the Song style, but still, the content and meaning seems to me pretty general and does not contain any principles or method found in Song style only. So yeah, for any serious XY practitioner I guess a full translation would be interesting. Hope someone can help you.

No, that's just what I needed.

I was curious if there were either specific exercise or general theory tips and from what you say it's just an overview of the animals to go with them which tells me that it's just a cool video and I don't need to spend any more time on it.

He is a fine old practitioner though. I really like his movement.

Thanks again!

Cheers!
