I did watch the video but am not convinced by the argument
A lot of people think the various high,round and spinning kicks came to Karate via Tong Soo Do and Hwang Gi
Don't put power into the form let it naturally arise from the form

No, it was just a more general comment really stemming from G's last post about "martial arts" in the West.

As an aside, tang soo do was one of the first arts I did, and they admitted that it came from karate.

Seems to me that the history of kicks in taekwondo would be relevant.

Interesting discussion. I'll look a little more into Tekkyon, just for fun. Anyway, I agree with the idea that people are attached more to the myths of their ma than they should. :)

Tekkyon is another of those invented traditions--or at least a reverse engineered one.

I like the research done by Jesse Enkamp!
He even interviewed one of the modern writers who translated the Bubishi! He even had profiled a kata! fronm Chinese origins that is stated to be an origin into many system of SE Asia. Check him out! Jesse Enkamp, mi gente!
