I learned a similar routine about 35 or so years ago but it was not called baduanjin but it tended to follow a pattern of what may be called baduanjin. it is an "older routine that fell into practice and somehow resurrected into 8 Brocade. It appears similar to a routine taught by Stuart Olsen. My Hong Kong teacher (I met him in Louisiana)-1978-1980 taught it as a warmup! I do not practice it but I do the more common 8 Brocade, without the 'fanfare'!
