Btw, afa tech, have you heard about the
"We have no idea how they did this"': Secret hypersonic launch shows China streaking ahead in arms race
The nuclear-capable missile circled the entire Earth at low orbit before descending on its target, ultimately missing by 20 miles

Yes I did see that article about the hypersonic missile.

@Giles thanks for the book rec.

China says it was a spacecraft test.

Dunno what "hypersonic" means, but it doesn't sound "gravity defying" like the UAP. But probably more immediately concerning.

Always find it very amusing the insistence anything not developed or discovered by the US is somehow stolen from the US.

The technology for a hyper sonic projectiles was being tested in Redstone Arsenal, back in the 90s.
In the place that I worked in the military there were some people involved in the concepts for manning and maintenance requirements.

China, has developed some very interesting advancements based on a known Technology.
Hyper sonic is used to refer to an object traveling more than five times the speed of sound.

What China developed a game changer. Time for the US to wake up, if it can.

Yeah, America definitely needs to keep up with science and create a lot more scientists.

Hey, if someone stole the technology, then someone had it already. Otoh, any technology created by humans can be understood by other humans.

Artist conception of possible developmental prototypes for US Army hypersonic weapons.

Image

The plan, according to the Army, is to integrate common hypersonic glide bodies with two-stage boosters into canisters to create an all-up round prototype.

looks. like china was able to develop their own platform, very sophisticated , now in testing.

I'm pretty sure we've been tracking China's progress in hypersonic missiles since at least 2015.

hmm ok so that makes the UAP and the "no sonic boom" observation more remarkable. I guess we'll never know.

Nice clip....

Do find it a bit disingenuous, to assume everyone is ok with the US holding all the cards controlling the tech.
With drone tech the risk factor is very low,,,no skin in the game, as recently shown with killing the family in Afghanistan.

It's said the hyper sonic missile is nuke capable, does not mean it has to be used as such, like US drones....

China, "oops, just another accident..my bag "

China had to overcome some significant technological hurdles to do what they tested, if true.

Probably an extension of their capabilities related to hypersonic missile's for ships. Totally smart and different approach
to an adversary ""the US" who's had the advantage of teach so far.
Using it to engage with very low tech, to no tech foes.

Should the Chinese continue to improve the platform, gives very little if any reaction time, a true game changer.
The only thing that might work assuming they can track it, having any reaction time, might be something based on LASER tech.

Or as with other weapons of mass destruction it might be considered part of the MAD doctrine.

Does not mean it can't be used with less then it's full capabilities.

The sonic boom only happens in the atmosphere. Afa the relation to hypersonic missiles, etc., one type operates below 100K feet, and the hypersonic "glide" missile/vehicle operates much higher. At a certain altitude there won't be a sonic boom because there aren't enough molecules to be squeezed enough to make a sound. You remember Aliens: "In space, no one can hear you scream." :)

Anyway, both types of missiles are able to move erratically enough to prevent tracking --afa they're letting us know. Any weapons tech the DoD allows the public to know about is a decade behind where the tech is. Secondly, all weapons publications are acts of propaganda. Reagan's "Star Wars Defense Shield" was a total ploy. If it had been possible in '82, it'd be in operation now.

Afa the Chinese weapon, imo, China is not the threat. The problem is someone in any of these nations selling the technology. Yeah, North Korea or Iran might get it. However, if they get these weapons with nuclear capability, it'll still be suicide to use it. To prevent retaliation, they'd have to hit command and control, and the people who could authorize a return strike. The problem is that these are also the most valuable parts of the country. If country X wipes out DC, NY, NO, Leavenworth (:)), etc., what exactly does it do with the irradiated remainder of the country. I think every major country realizes that it'd be bad for the world economy --not to mention the ecology.

Terrorism is scarier, especially if no one takes responsibility. However, a VA couple was just arrested for selling nuclear sub secrets. Iow, the leak might be from here. Then again, there's little need to fear a nuclear holocaust. No matter who starts it, we'll be finished.
