Some development in the current pushing hand in China, but the rules were not clearly stated:
Beauty push hand, beauty and strong man push hand, kung fu amazing. Changzhou net name Wucuao Rao new film tai Chi push hand kung fu is particularly prominent. Recently, the national Tai Chi push hands event organized by the Pudong New Area of Shanghai attracted a large number of applicants, far exceeding the organizers' expectations.
Taijiquan push hand vs professional wrestlers, obvious advantages, competitive taijiquan push hand development quickly, combat ability highlights.
Shanghai this year on October 23 mass Tai Chi push hand highlights. The ngo Truth-seeking Group launched the organization, which was actively participated despite the inconvenience of travel during the epidemic.
there are already many successful grappling formats/rulesets in the world...

IMO, I hate fixed foot position type push hands...I only do it when I have to. Or it's vs newbs.
* Otherwise I believe PH should consist of free moving footwork, with Sweeps, throws and Locks. That's how prefer to do it, if at all. ============================================================================================
In the 2nd video down on the OP. the one about 1:47 long.
I don't think that's bad at all. In fact the opposite. Those dudes are fairly big and strong yes, but they are also showing some skill.
I saw a trip/sweep, throws and balance displacement. Only thing missing would be allowing locks IMO.
2018年吴式太极拳第五代传人修淑玉获得中国威海国际太极推手比赛冠军视频 In 2018, Xiu Shuyu, the fifth-generation successor of Wu-style Taijiquan, won the championship in the Weihai International Taiji Pushing Competition in China.
Seems to me the earlier videos show barely any taiji skill at all. At least the competitor in the video Yeung posted (Xiu Shuyu) is trying to use proper taiji concepts (root, peng, using shenfa to disperse force, even saw one pluck in there)!
While others may disagree, I've always felt that PH is meant to be a form of cooperative two-man training that builds connection, structure, and sensitivity. That is why turning PH into a competition simply defeats its purpose.
Lively, sure, but if you're diverging from principle are you really getting the full benefit? I mean if you want to spar, spar. If you want to roll or fight, do that. Push hands, in my opinion, is not realistic. It's fun, it's critical to developing taijiquan skills, but if you're doing push hands to convince yourself your shit works in a realistic self defense encounter, you're just deluding and cheating yourself.
The folks that want to go full contact had a space set up and got their fill.
If you want to show them how it's done, I'll sponsor your trip to the next retreat, or any subsequent retreat thereafter. Air fare round trip from Australia and I'll even put you up in the finest hotel plant city has to offer and cover all your meals.
Not as a challenge, mind you, but because I'd be genuinely ecstatic to have the chance to work with you.
This is an earnest offer.
You wouldn't even have to sully your energy with touching any of these unskilled charlatans. You could just sit and watch and take silent mental notes on how bad they are to report back here.

Well just sending a bunch of cash makes me a bit uneasy. Let me see if I can find some way to escrow the sum that you could verify I was sincere, but where I could get it back in case you decide not to come. More later on this...

Hahaha! I learned at an early age that "I'll think about it" usually means NO, so don't get your hopes up, because it probably ain't gonna happen. My mom was an expert at deflecting and delaying the final disappointment in this way.
