Tampa Bay Martial Arts Group Biannual Retreat

It's actually over already, but there's another one coming up in March.

There were about 60 people gathered together for two full days of push hands and similar activity. Ego was nowhere to be seen, and the second anybody showed up they were instantly treated like family.

Many different styles and systems were represented. Chen, yang, liuhebafa, xingyi, untrained enthusiasm, all kinds of folks to try your stuff against.

I had a blast but I could definitely tell I hadn't touched another player in two years. Sore as hell. Picked up a massive amount of information and feedback.

People came from as far as Baltimore. Stefan De Graffenreid, one of Adam Mizner's senior students and the Alabama HME affiliate instructor was there (like pushing smoke, very impressive). William Miller, a reputable Chen stylist, came down from Atlanta.

So much talent gathered together, such a great atmosphere. If any of you can make it to Tampa in March, seriously you owe it to yourself.

Best part is it's $35 for the whole weekend, including camping, plenty of water, and a couple meals.

The info for the March retreat should be posted here in the coming days.

Ran across a video they made a while back. If you blink you'll miss Dale Dugas.

15 days to go! I've got a camp shower and spare tent. Let's do this! I'm stoked.
