Buddy - you have to go to your User Control Panel then click on the Usergroups tab and 'apply' for the G.O.O. status.

Buddy, after your request is approved by one of the group leaders, you also have to go to your UCP and make the GOO group your "default" group.
for meynard, if he wants, i can make a special rank just for him that is a perpetual beginner. ;)

i cant find the option for changing my default group? It says im already apart of GOO but yeah....
